ESSENTIAL tips for maintaining your hair color at home.

Wow! Look at you looking all fresh from the salon!
You look amazing!

Whether you've gone for a bold and vibrant shade or a subtle and natural look, you've spent precious time and money to make your hair dreams a reality, proper at-home care is essential to keeping your hair salon fresh. Here are some helpful tips for at home color care.

1. Do NOT shampoo hair for at least 48 hours to ensure your cuticle has time to return to it's natural porosity. You could have more fading when washing freshly colored hair.

2. Use color-safe shampoo and conditioner: Regular shampoos can strip away color, we recommend professional grade, color safe products designed for color-treated hair. These gentle formulas help preserve your color while keeping your hair healthy and shiny.

3. Wash with cool water: Hot water can open up the hair cuticle, causing color molecules to escape. Rinse your hair with cool water to seal the cuticles and lock in the color.

4. Limit washing frequency: Washing your hair too often can fade the color faster. Try to extend the time between washes by using dry shampoo or opting for hairstyles that don't require washing.

5. Protect your hair from the sun: Just like your skin, your hair can be damaged by the sun's UV rays. Shield your colored tresses by wearing a hair or using hair products with built-in UV protection.

6. Minimize heat styling: Heat styling tools like flat irons and curling wands can cause color to fade more quickly. If you must use them, apply a salon quality HEAT PROTECTANT beforehand and keep the temperature as low as possible.

7. Deep condition regularly: Colored hair has been through a chemical (or multiple) processes. It may be more prone to dryness and damage. Treat your locks to a nourishing, salon quality, DEEP CONDITIONING TREATMENT once a week to keep the hydrated, soft, and vibrant.

8. Avoid chlorine and saltwater: Chlorine and saltwater can strip away color and leave your hair looking dull. Before swimming, wet your hair with clean water and apply a LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER or protective spray to create a barrier.

9. Schedule regular touch-ups: As your hair grows, your roots will start to show, and the color may fade. To maintain a consistent and fresh look, SCHEDULE regular touch-up appointments with you stylist.
